    Asking because in just a few short miles of each other are these huge mega churches in my neighborhood.  Three are those Baptist churches that are big spread out on some of the finest land here in my town.  

    My vote would be to tax em all.

      although it depends on the state and the use.  AFAIK, actual church buildings are always exempt.  Churches own property that is used for all sorts of purposes, though - clergy housing, homeless shelters, thirft stores, cafes - and in at least some states there won't be exemption for those.  But in many states the property will be exempt regardless of use.
