    Yet now I believe it's a common practice.  Political activism is a relatively recent development for Southern Baptists; it's not a part of Baptist tradition and history.
    I've been attending Southern Baptist churches for 40 years, primarily in red states, and I've never been subjected to political activism in terms of "who to vote for."  I've never even seen a "voter guide" in any of the churches I've attended.

    One of the pastors I've most admired put it best: "Church and State should be separate, because the alternative corrupts the Church and weakens the State."

    The word "parent" is supposed to be a VERB, people...
