  •  Well, if you look at both how Iraq went bad (8+ / 0-)

    and Afghanistan went bad, you can find the roots of that in the Reagan/Bush years.

    And I think it is pretty safe to say that Bush Sr. was the key figure in foreign policy during that time.

    That's what happens when a former CIA Director is elected to first be vice president and then become president.

    I hope that you add that key element when teaching, as it is a bit of a glaring omission from this diary, imo.
