  •  As I have confessed here before... (7+ / 0-)

I actually voted for George Bush in 2000.

They betrayal I felt launched me into my current political mind set.  I still consider myself a conservative (as I have listed on my bio here) but I am nothing like what conservative has come to mean on here or anywhere else these days.

When I was I had to eat crow amongst my few friends that were liberal at the time, I did so by saying that they were right, I was wrong and I will do my best to keep that (George Bush getting re-elected) from happening again.  I failed but know one who knew me questioned my distaste for George Bush.

If Reggid or the so called crew were honest in defending the NSA, more power to them.  They believed their country would never do something like this and I understand that.  But now is not the time to hide.  If that were me and I finally realized that I had been made a sucker and that I was defending the government while they were lying to me?  I would first apologize to all of you and then do my best to extract my pound of flesh from the liars for making me into a fool.

There is no shame in getting fooled but there is a lot of shame in hiding from your mistakes and not stepping forward to correct them.
