As have plenty of dems. The reality is that the dems played a major role in pushing the drug war and despite some good words from the president this admin is willfully continuing the war, although thankfully not escalating, to my knowledge.

If debt were a moral issue then, lacking morals, corporations could never be in debt.

on several lines of battle in the war on drugs; which pleasantly surprised me. I don't think he does this without first discussing with POTUS.

Look forward to strong final laps in this 8 year race. But who President Obama passes the baton to will determine the fate of legalization/decriminalization/MM for a long time.

The DEA nobility is very powerful and they have junk on ALL the politicians because politicians at a min, have relatives, friends and sponsors carrying baggage from some agency of the local, state federal governments.

    •  sequester impact on DEA's new policy (0+ / 0-)

does sequestration and budget cuts impact the DEA's ability to enforce this new policy?

will budget pressures effectively eviscerate the ability of the DEA to enforce this policy?

Or will they increase the chance that the policy gets enforced justified on the expectation that budget shortfalls can be partially offset by seizing armored car full of petty cash from Pot Dispensaries?

Or does sequestration have no impact at all on this new policy.
