    I believe the US does too ... Is that not the test when medical negligence is so gross that it is charged as a crime?

    It probably wouldn't fit this case though. The repo company, as agents of the bank, may have been grossly negligent, but I doubt it rise to a criminal standard.

    So the bank should be on the hook for the behaviour of their agents. The repo company took the stuff, but the foreclosure was the bank's action.

    I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
    but I fear we will remain Democrats.

      commented that in some jurisdictions, the bank or the contractor is required to store the property for 30 or 60 days.  Just in case.  There should be a campaign to make this mandatory everywhere.  Could that be done nationally, or would it have to be done in a million jurisdictions, separately?
