You mentioned the race for Mayor of New York City. I mentioned a vacancy created by the death of the District Attorney of Harris County TX. That is Houston, the nation's 4th largest city.
Dallas County has a Democrat as DA. Harris County has not had one since 1978 and that was a Blue Dog.
Harris County could go blue. President Obama won narrow margins here in 2008 and 2012. There was more than a decade when Republicans always won countywide. Now things are more up in the air.
New York state is almost slam-dunk for Democrats. It is losing electoral votes. Texas today is slam-dunk for Republicans but that could change. It is gaining electoral votes.
I could not claim that Democrats have the upper hand in Harris County. In 2010 and 2012 we lost some offices we had picked up in 2008.
Last year a GOP buddy asked me what I thought about the 2012 election. I thought that Obama was favored nationwide. I thought he would win Dallas, Travis, Bexar, and El Paso counties. I would not make a guess about Harris County. I may have predicted Romney would win Fort Bend County. Actually he got only 52 %. I was right about the other 4 counties.

    Censorship is rogue government.
