flying down that morning, no problem -- had a ticket for back that evening (day-trip, minimal luggage). The Oh-dark-thirty Austin plane out of Lubbock.

On the way back to Lubbock I got ... further screening. Why? the carry-on (hip-pack, with diabetes test kit, eyeglasses, cell phone, car keys inside) tested positive for explosive residue.

      WTH?

if you can fly, you aren't on the list, but there's another list of people that get extra attention when flying.

Right after TSA got their fancy drug swabs. Over enthusiastic agent I guess. Older, probably trying to keep his job. Flying out of a small regional airport, no line, no jetways. Tested positive for ??? Must have been the detergent that spilled inside the bag. Quit using that bag for air travel. Still get extra attention when I travel. So does spouse. Watch out for those checkered SW passes, that means you're on the list.
