  •  This is an excellent point - (8+ / 0-)
“If President [Bashar al-Assad] were to absorb the strikes and use chemical weapons again"
WTF is the Administrations plan if Assad simply says "fuck you, jack" and launches a serious chemical weapons offensive on multiple fronts?

Sure, we can drop some more bombs, but that won't save rebel forces that get pounded with VX.

    1) Bomb Syria 2)???????????? 3) Lives saved!!!!!!

a chemical warhead in the middle of the deck of whatever carrier is closest....

Yes, our military technology is bad ass, the best in the world some say though the Russian air force pulled performance out of their hats.  It turned out that the wrinkly weird skin we attributed to crappy manufacturing actually increased the lift of the planes.....

I want a Sukhoi Su-27....there were 2 available, demilled and ready to fly on new engines and avionics...one sold to some lucky stiff with a few extra million lying around...the other waits for my powerball win....heh.....The Flanker was one bad ass beast, very similar to the Strike Eagle F-15

Long rant to say that with Russia as an ally, there's a damn good chance that Syria could strike back at us with a lot more results than most think.

What would the rep of our country do if we not only failed to get all the chems and he used them again plus lost 2-3 ships including a carrier in the attempt.....

This whole thing is bad JuJu and I could easily see the more militant of the rebel groups martyring their own to take down Assad.......
