  •  "Pantry" moths suddenly appearing. (6+ / 0-)

For the past several years I've had a problem with them hatching out in the spring (from clothes and indoor potted plants.)  This year I had few in the spring compared to previous years so I thought I had somehow gotten them under control.  But now I'm getting a few in late summer (unusual compared to previous years), though sporadically.  Not sure if this is a "late" batch hatching out of somewhere inside, or others flying in from outside when I have a door open briefly.

Are there chew holes in your clothes?  Do you know which potted plants harbor the moths (or caterpillars?) all winter?

do you have a captive moth so you can describe its physical characteristics?

It started shortly after I found a dead moth in the house, in from outside, I expect. First time I've ever seen such.

Now here babies are everywhere! (Or at least it seems that way.) Guess I'll have to imitate my mom and collect them in a jar to take outside ;)
