      no progressive ally on this or any other issue.  Manchin is here, and--oh look!--he was on gun control.

        But you know what?  He'd be guilty of dereliction of duty of he didn't support coal, given how critical it is to West Vriginia's economy.  People seem to forget that Senators and Congressmen are there to first and foremost represent their constituents.  They shouldn't be the targets of purist rage when they do. Just accept that you lost them on that one issue, and then come back to them on the next one. Good comment.

          the mountaintop cutting they've done in that state, those flat areas would make great staging areas for windmills. Wouldn't all those miners rather work out in the fresh air instead of having generations of black lung disease and the fear of being trapped underground? Just a thought.
