    proposes and the UN or at least it members supported that plan and wanted to participate in it, and  the plan included removing Assad from power, probably most of us would support it.

    But the plan now is to leave the gas intact for anyone who can get their hands on to do so and use.  That does nothing in the long run to protect the Syrian children.  

    Assad and his army would still be in power.  That does nothing to protect Syrian children.

    Russia can replace any weapons destroyed.

    So what would really be accomplished?

    Except weapons manufacturers can make millions replacing all the missiles that got used.

    And the US will be even more deeply hated than we are now.
    There was a time 20 or more years ago when the US was the most admired and liked nation in the world.

    An entire generation of Americans, maybe two have never had that pleasure.
