    "repetition compulsion" is an awkward term. "Obsession" is better, I think. Also, the Cons tend to understand two-word phrases as a self-contained conflict situation. So, if repetition gets rid of the compulsion, or compulsion negates the repetition, then it's all fine. What you intend as a negative, is read as a positive.
    Of course, they don't understand the meaning of obsession, either, but at least the message is not reinforcing.
    IMHO, one has to deal with the Cons as if they were speaking in a foreign tongue. Which they are. Nothing they say means what it seems.
