With cruise missiles, drones, the coming generation of LARs (lethal autonomous robots) the US, with its unlimited military budget, will be able to field a war machine that is just that:  a machine, no moving human parts to suffer casualties).  Purple hearts will go to the drone operators 150 feet under the Nevada desert who spill hot cappuccino on themselves.  With no American casualties ever again, how can there ever again be a mass US peace movement?  I just don't see how it's possible,  people will still be able to watch whole seasons of vampire cop shows (the stars all look like the young Pete Doherty) on their digital devices, what more could a modern American want?
