    A good salesman can also sell himself. My son is such a type. Things may look bleak, but I would expect him to bounce back from this.

    In truth, he stayed there too long and should have been looking to leave the first time they sabotaged his success.

    If you make a bunch of irrevocable decisions based on fear and emotion, they will likely be the wrong ones. Sit down with your daughter and son in law and talk about what you can and cannot do for them going forward. That way your son in law will know whether he needs to take ANY job ASAP, or whether he can afford to be a bit more choosy.

    Set up contingencies that you will pursue if (and only if) he fails to find adequate employment.
