  •  the wars have hurt America badly (20+ / 0-)

    and most Americans know that.
This script: "chemical weapons-we have to act" scenario-- i.e., meaning we must kill more people with US bombardment --
It's an old trick.  It is the same trick they (the military or whomever) used to get us into Iraq.
They used the Gulf of Tonkin to get us into Vietnam.
It's an old trick that it got us into so many quagmires, so many killed and so many suicides, and so many millions of refugees-- and in the end we watched one failure after another, and we learned in the end that it was all about nothing-- nothing but destruction of another society, and in the end our own defeat and humiliation, and trillions in lost treasure, and lost values, lost American values.
I think that Americans all know this. Who wouldn't?
But the same people who traipsed us through all that for so many years, all that carnage and failure and damage to our own society, are still in control, and they have the nerve  to try to pull the same trick on us now, all over again.
Can't they think up a new trick?  They pulled this one so many times, we know what it is all about.  If you believe us this time ... Why?
It has hurt us so badly.  The society is cutting food stamps and putting millions out of their homes and they want to pull the same dumb scenario again?  Are they kidding?  War "weariness" does not begin to describe it.
The military must look themselves at all the damage they have done to America, and they must own it.
