  •  We warned you, and others who supported.... (8+ / 0-)

the gun control push, not to push the issue, and warned of the consequences.

We did our best to SAVE thethose seats, but you didn't listen.

"Reap what you sow" is seldom so apt.....

    •  We do not abandon our beliefs (5+ / 0-)

for political expediency.  I believe there's a rich history of that in the Democratic party.

Even despite your warnings.  In fact, your warnings and current celebratory dances are pretty meaningless to us.

      But knock yourselves out.

I'm not dancing, I'm drinking.  In sorrow.  Because you wouldn't listen.

As the saying goes, "With friends like these..."...

worth another 30 yrs of Republicanism.  Haven't we had enough destruction in this nation because of their "trickle down theories", "tax breaks for the wealthy", the selling off of our infrastructure and outsourcing any and all jobs to slave labored nations?

Haven't we had enough???  Isn't 133,000 Americans lives ended too soon each and every year because of perpetual poverty that they've forced the majority of us into???

Haven't we had enough of their "three strikes you're out" rules that have generationally destroyed millions of American lives?

Haven't we had enough of them starting wars, committing war crimes and granting retroactive immunity to the Banksters to last 10 lifetimes???

That's right, refusing to "compromise your beliefs for political expediency" means that millions more will suffer every single day for the rest of their lives!

I seriously think you're mistaken to believe any of us are celebrating this!  Sadly you made this bed, now we all have to sleep in it and suffer the consequences.

        Thanks for nothing!

      •  I would never ask you to. (0+ / 0-)

I will just ask you to be aware of the consequences of making any change to any system (not just firearms laws).  These observations about systems are helpful for anyone who is left of center.

There's room for fixing the inadequacies of the NICS.
There's expanding the application of the NICS to personal transactions, known as "the gunshow loophole". That expansion applied to transfers of all firearms, in any location.
There's room for improvement on mental health services and reporting of persons, who like Holmes in Colorado, was a danger to others - and raised concerns with his mental health counselor.

I'll even toss the ban on ridiculously large magazines in.  Ban everything over 36 rounds.  No grandfather clause.  Turn it in, get a $10 credit, or be caught with it, and face a $1000 fine and a top level misdemeanor charge.

      NOT ENOUGH you say.
Then there's the scheduled AWB II victory lap.
When that sputtered to a halt in Congress, Colorado was to "send a message".

      That message is:
The will of Diane Feinstein, The Party, MAIG, and The Brady Campaign will not be resisted.
Oh, and the President. Shotgun Joe too, almost forgot Shotgun Joe.
(what is it with VPs and shotguns?)

What I'm reading here tonight is this:
Either you're on-board with The Message, or get the fuck out of the Democratic party, as we plan to run candidates who are ON MESSAGE ONLY until hell freezes over.
Leave your Credit Card information at the door, on your way out.
We'll take your money - but do us a favor and STFU if you're not ON-MESSAGE.

We're your betters.  You fucking hicks need to take a seat, follow the cue cards, and otherwise: Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

      Way to build a party.
      Which party - is debatable.

I'd like to see these four ideas move forward.
