    This is just classic stupid, and clearly illegal.  The government shouldn't even be joking about making citizens unequal under the law due to suspicion of crime.  If indeed any congressperson officially floated such a proposal, I would support not only an ethic investigation but their removal from the halls of power.

    Also, this action is about the opposite of what modern grassroots progressives support.

      Further, there is no basis in our democracy and especially with progressives for denying rights and/or benefits due to conviction for a minor crime, aside from whatever actual sentence you may be required to server (which obviously includes some restrictions), and yet here people are cheering a proposal to do only with the "probably cause" suspicion that a status vice offense has occurred?

      Now I'm laughing.
