    required a permit for anyone to stay overnight in a city park or public area. While I won't debate that cities changed rules retroactively, nearly all OWS encampments were violating some city ordinance the first night they were established. Post OWS cities have certainly learned two things, to put stronger laws and signage in place, and to evict any group the first day or night they violate any city law.
