Ala Thomas Jefferson.... why don't you liberal "Jesus was nothing but good and kind" Christians take a copy of the bible and cut out all the passages that you feel don't represent what "God" really thinks.  Then let the fundies do the same.  There's plenty of material for both sides. Then you can have two bibles, stop the squabbling and go to your corners.   Jesus said nice stuff, and then he said mean stuff.  God said he loved his creation, but he also hated it (in fact, if he is as angry as Vet Wife thinks he is, we're in for some more water!).

Seriously, the problem is NOT the people who glean what they want to believe out of those texts because it's all in there... the nasty god and the kind god.  The problem is the texts themselves.  If anything, "God" needed an editor.  Why would any decent deity let that book stand as it is?

And why would any human even be interested in this "God"?
