  •  Love your garden shots. (17+ / 0-)

I especially love the moon flowers. I want to grow some and that means I have to get them started good and early because they never have time here.

    My dragonfly visitor salutes you!

He hung around for a few days, always perching on the bamboo stake and then darting off for a treat or whatever. I kind of miss him.

And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County Down by the Green River where Paradise lay. Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away. John Prine

    •  ooooooh!!! (8+ / 0-)

just plant more bamboo stakes in a sunny spot.  You'll get MORE dragon visitors!!  They love anything upright like that to perch, I've found.  Anything up above everything else, so they have clear vantage around them

That is a great photo.  LOVE the shading on the wings.  :)

My next experiment is going to be digging up some moonflower roots.  They grow massive during the season...

Last years seed pods (which I had tons) actually resulted in one moonflower plant that sprouted on its own this year.  Started late of course, so no resulting flowers, but I was amazed it sprouted at all with all the cold we had this past winter.  I didn't think the seeds would survive the freeze.

Anyway, gonna see if those moonflower vines winter over (like passionflower vines)... we'll see!  :)
