  •  Why would they care? (0+ / 0-)

As long as the chemical weapons are being used against their enemies?

    •  Same reason Japan doesn't like nuclear weapons. (1+ / 0-)

Iran got hit by them hard in the Iran-Iraq war, and finds them pretty reprehensible.

      •  Japan does not like nuclear weapons because they (0+ / 0-)

have been doing a "we're a victim" shtick ever since WWII to try to use the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to mitigate their guilt for their war crimes.

Please provide any evidence that Iran actually finds chemical weapons reprehensible, or are you just pulling this claim out of your ass?

Iran’s Rouhani strongly condemns chemical weapons use

          And the tweets:

We completely & strongly condemn use of chemical weapons in #Syria because Islamic Republic of Iran is itself victim of chemical weapons 1/2

Iran suffered chemical weapons attacks by Iraqi forces during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war 2/2

Those would be the first hint they're not fans of them.

            of the statement.

The government in Damascus says Takfiris have used chemical weapons on several occasions, including an attack in the region of Khan al-Assal in Aleppo Province on March 19, where over two dozen people died. A Russian-led inquiry confirmed that the militants operating in Syria had carried out the chemical attack in Khan al-Assal.
Needless to say, the Iranian government did not in any way condemn the government of Syria for using chemical weapons.

In short, they have no problem with the use of chemical weapons as long as it is against the enemies of their allies.
