    But quoting the bible for anything is counterproductive. Like any holy text it was made by largely ignorant  people. We have now modern morality from centuries of trial and error and modern science. Mentioning bible in any way just lends it credibility it should not have.

      It's classic literature, well known throughout the world.  Is quoting Shakespeare counterproductive?
