Logically, an "almighty god" would not necessarily be a good good. Too many Christians, especially conservative Christians, seem to forget that the old children's mealtime prayer "God is great, God is good" consists of two separate statements and act as though their god is "great", i.e., omnipotent, therefore he is good. Either through a misunderstanding of this prayer or through independent fallacious reasoning, such people conclude that because their god is (supposedly) omnipotent, the requirements they attribute to him must necessarily be good. O'Reilly is doing exactly that. I have no doubt that he believes his god is omnipotent, omnipotence is goodness (or at least never having to say you're sorry), therefore, what O'Reilly decides that his god wants must be "good". And by the way, Jesus did not free the Jews from anything (far from it), so the mission of Jesus as described by O'Reilly was a failure.

The more people I encounter, the more I appreciate our cats.
