  •  I've read and watched a couple of documentaries (5+ / 0-)

about Rand. People who don't bother reading both sides of issues and just jump on others band wagons are just as much of the problem as the ignorant die-hard followers on both sides of a coin, in my opinion.

Knowing thy enemy, being aware of both sides' propaganda helps, not hinders, how one travels in life.

I have a brother-in-law, dying of kidney cancer, who spouts lots of Rand. He was a millionaire in his early thirties, lost it all, went bankrupt, never paid taxes and wonders why he didn't qualify for SS disability. He didn't pay into Social Security! He recently found out that he and his wife (my sister) will save over 500.00 a month with ACA (obamacare). At least he had the sense to by his own insurance at some point... This guy has a PHD in chemical engineering but surely lacked in much understanding of how a democracy is suppose to work, until he needed it.
Although I am very empathetic of his poor health, seeing his arrogance when he was rich, turn into a needy human being has been a lesson learned for many who know him.

We never really know what life will bring to us, but I think, when some people truly believe they are 'better' than others, (the 1%) spiraling down into 'real life' may be a trip they all should take at least once in their lives...most of the 99% will never make the trip upward. Maybe that's the way it's suppose to in Majority Rules...

Rand also got to see how the 99% lived at her end of life.

As I've told my brother-in-law, at least you had the experience:)
