      don't feel invincible, but it has been part of human nature for quite a while for the young to feel invincible.

      hell, a lot of people in their late 30s and 40s still act like they are going to live forever.

      so even though they know having health insurance is a good idea, and having life insurance is a good idea, and making a will is a good idea, and planning for retirement is a good idea, the vast majority of young people do not act on that knowledge and do those things, especially if they are single and/or do not have children.

      the invincibility factor is just as real as the reality of many young adults not being able to afford it.  I'm not sure why you label it as a stereotype--is there something offensive about it?
