  •  The GOP sure seems intent on creating crisis (5+ / 0-)

And I'm beginning to wonder if they are trying to precipitate a constitutional crisis..If it plunges the rest of the world into a depression, I guess they think that's just the cost of doing business.

Truly depraved, but these people are representing a hardcore depraved part of our population.  There are far too many people in this country that would welcome the nightmare the far right wants.

As for recourse, I can't think of anything that could be done for this shutdown.  It's a temper tantrum.  The debt ceiling has a few options, but it could lead to a crisis or impeachment.  We're headed towards the rocks it seems.  Maybe someone gets control of the boat before we wreck.

    •  What's really sad is that they did this because (0+ / 0-)

of racist fervor & propoganda, which is hurtful to our country.  The reason they don't want Obamacare is because it's got Obama's name on it and people are going to love it.  They want to erase his name from history, like the crazies of old that cut the noses off of statues when they hated a leader.

The ACA has brought down ever increasing cost of healthcare for the first time in 50 years.  If Tea Party members were really committed to cost reduction, they'd see that the ACA is a real opportunity to do something about medical costs which we must get under control.
