Party has illustrated that a few cranks in tricorner hats with misspelled signs trump a huge gathering of anyone else. Is it any wonder that they are so myopic?

The TEA Party and all of its phony populism and manufactured dissent is really the big-business party.  The fact that angry, middle-aged white men are pushing for policies that do not and will not benefit them is fascinating and sad.  The tri-cornered hat hat crowd seem to have no idea that they are being used by mega-millionaires and billionaires to undo legislation that displeases the oligarchs, or, gasp, costs them money.

It's not surprising that our corporate media do not shine a light on the fact that genuine outrage over bailouts and the like was used and manipulated so cynically by uber-rich right-wing ideologues.  The US corporate media's interests are aligned with the plutocrats interests, not with the people's interests.

And the tri-cornered hats crowd rails against publicly funded media, not knowing that in this too, they are being stupid and short sighted.
