    and more and better ones are developing to the point that they will just win due to direct economic factors... cheaper etc.

    BUT the overlap of waning dirty energy... rising delayed climate changes still playing out... and the replacement of old energy with renewable green energy could still leave the world struggling to endure a period of destabilization of just about everything... natural, social and economic.

    We do not know the full extent of the still developing harm... changing technological course of a whole planet is exactly like the Titanic and the iceberg... takes time to slow, steer or reverse an ocean liner.

    Or are we like the Costa Concordia speeding mostly heedlessly past an ignored danger and taking a while to finally sink... most survive but a catastrophe... and the long term situation dealt with via a huge and unprecedented use of technology rather than let it work itself out "naturally".

      But I know despair will only make things worse. Everything we do to reduce CO2 emissions or sequester current atmospheric CO2 will reduce the impact of the problem.

      There's a difference between a responsible gun owner and one that's been lucky so far.
