Under "related stories" are the following three headlines:

Utah unemployment rates skyrocket after gov't shutdown

Prospect for quick end to shutdown is remote

Utah federal employees protest, worry about day-to-day living

I'm not naive enough to think Utah will suddenly turn blue or even pink anytime soon. But the poll and comments on the stories both at KSL and the Deseret News suggest many are totally fed up with the Tea Party faction of the party. I will take that for now.

    •  heh...I see what you did there ;-) (8+ / 0-)

The same thing is probably happening in VA and MD, b/c so many furloughed federal workers reside there.

I wish I saw the same level of concern here in PA, where we have a Teahadist governor and a bunch of knee-jerk GOP voters whose only love for the party is b/c their family always voted that way.

Brains? we haz a few. We eated them. (imagine pootie pic here)

I lived in Nebraska once upon a time, long before the Tea Party, and that was demoralizing enough.

we Democrats were gerrymandered by this Teahadist governor who got in during 2010 and has since done everything he could to undermine the workers and exalt the rich.

          I'm sure he believes he's a Christian.

I don't think Christian means what he thinks it means.

And I'm pretty sure that Christ, who healed the sick, would not be particularly happy with someone who withheld health care from the poor because he could and b/c it would enhance his Teahadist credentials.

Corbett is an evil, evil man.

We have enough federal employees to make the unemployment rate go up?

If the national parks stay closed, restaurants, hotels and stores in Moab, Springdale, etc will lay off employees.  Employees near Hill AFB will lose their jobs.

But I saw a want ad just yesterday from a defense contractor in Salt Lake.
