  •  Half the country (0+ / 0-)

wanted more liberalism, and therefore they voted against Obama?

    •  1/2 those opposed to ACA wanted MORE liberalism (0+ / 0-)

About 1/2 of the country liked ACA and half opposed it. About 1/2 of the half that opposed it wanted single-payer,  public option, and/or other "liberal" changes/improvements.  That means about 3/4 of the country either liked ACA as passed or wanted it even stronger.  That's not good news for conservatives.

I'd note that our so-called news media did an outstanding job of hiding this info.  They'd breathlessly report that half the country opposed ACA without ever mentioning that half of those wanted it stronger.

That the 1/4 who opposed it completely is able to retain the House even after losing by over a million Congressional votes nationwide is due in no small part to conservative-controlled redistricting (and, I'd suggest, a lack of pro-Dem partisan redistricting in California, where it's now done by a bipartisan commission or some such more-neutral method).
