I'm nearly 58, and have only served those with Agent Orange disabilities. I'm with you on every other point, but have one difference of opinion.

I keep reminding myself that this is, like it or not, democracy in action. At least the old lady ain't kilt yet. I gotta keep goin' if only for her.

That's what citizens do. Some were granted the right to walk to the starting line, while we were protecting their right to have a starting line. But people like you and I have always known some pretty important things about this whole democracy gig. One of the first is that freedom isn't free. Another is that only through eternal vigilance can that lamp stay lit in the harbor, and my heart.

Thank you for defending my freedom. I really do appreciate it.

Nurse Kelley says my writing is brilliant and my soul is shiny - who am I to argue?

makes me think of the sweet RC Nuns who taught me in Elementary school - in a small German-American parish in Northern Kentucky in the 50's.  One in particular, Sister Mary Selza, was an angel and took me under her wings and loved me unconditionally - and it was the most wonderful thing to have happened to me in my life ... and my soul was shiny!
