Nor did it qualify the word "force" with the word "legally". "Force" could also mean to politically force him to call a vote. Which is I believe part of their plan. The want to make him own default, and they know he won't let that happen.

We need to stop pushing this unfounded meme that the teabaggers run the GOP. They do not. They're a serious problem for it, but they don't run the party. Nor can they force Boehner to default. That will not happen, even if it costs him politically. He has to answer to Wall St. before he has to answer to the tea party. He'll break the Hastert rule if he has to. And he has to.

is the "move" to "force Boehner's hand."

As of the beginning of the shutdown,
the discharge petition "move" was debatable.

That Dem tactic is debatable no longer.

      thanks kovie.

simply because it would politically neuter Boehner and turn him into a cuckold. But I'd take a regular order vote if that did the trick. Which is what I think will happen. I also believe that it will be good for Boehner, politically. The media and non-crazy (but still corrupt) wing of the GOP will (dishonestly) praise his "courage" and "statesmanship" in doing the right thing (for wrong reasons). But if it gets us past this nonsense and scores Obama & Dems a win, so be it.

I'd personally buy him a case of whatever he's drinking these days if I could afford it and I thought it would do any good. Judging by the tint of his skin, I'm guessing it's Southern Comfort. Or Orange Crush.
