  •  Just called Ron Barber's office (20+ / 0-)

and was told that he voted for this because it made no difference in the rule of the House; that the House Leader is the only one who can bring legislation to a vote.  When I proceeded to ask why the congressman voted, he said that he thought it was the best move to encourage the ending of the shutdown so that the R's would move to end the shutdown.

And when I tried to respond, the aide hung up on me.

In how many languages do you have to say : BULLPUCKY!

I called back and told the aide that I didn't appreciate being hung up on and that I found Ron's name on Tea Party Cheer and that as progressive liberals we needed to stand together in this CR/Debt Default mess and Ron put a knife in our backs and we would not forget.  That we were bringing his name and betrayal to the national level and we would work against him and those other traitors.

By the way, did you know that our man, Ron, is one of the
featured candidates on a site called Tea Party Cheer, seems that they support of his voting record and positions.

Apparently Arizona's citizens have noticed this wolf in sheep's clothing and wondered out loud:
    A Barber Primary? Worth Discussing

There is perhaps a more active dis-satisfaction with Congressman Ron Barber’s voting record than is reported in the public press. Some of that is due to the congressman’s recent vote with his Republican colleagues to tie the funding of the government with a delay of penalties for those who do not enroll in an insurance plan.

The one year delay was viewed by Democratic loyalists as nothing more than part of the Republican attack on the Affordable Care Act.(Good Lord! What if people really liked and wanted “Obamacare”–as it turned out they did.)

Although he was an aide of Gabby Giffords, seems like he was a Manchurian Candidate for the Dems anyway.  Anyone in Az know about him?

So, if you are in a mood to let his office know what you think about back-stabbing R-emocrats, the number is:

    (202) 225-2542

I think that we need to let these politicians know that they were seen and we have their names and faces and we will hold them accountable for their betrayal at this time when it is imperative that Democrats stand tall and stand together.  We have to give them as much bad publicity as possible.

Thanks WoE for your great journalism, as always.

OK, someone take the next on the list and make a call and leave a post.... (if that hasn't already been done.  Gotta get to work.....)  This just fried me.
