    People need to read between the lines.  What Sen. Reid is telling you is that it won't happen -- because he's tying it to something that the Republicans will never agree to.

    Of course, that pretty much means that there won't be any changes to the sequester levels -- perhaps there will be some increase in flexibility, but Republicans will never agree to increase discretionary spending without corresponding spending reductions in entitlements.

    I strongly suspect that the best that either side will get out of the budget negotiations is the status quo -- no tax increases, no entitlement reform, no increases to sequester levels, no new tax revenue.

      we are back to that again.  And we will soon be fighting about chained cpi again.  This is not a good thing!  Yet another dead end that aggravates the liberal base and alienates the activists who you need to be motivated if we hope to win in 2014.
