  •  I don't think a slight cut in very small % (1+ / 0-)

would be horrible, particularly NOT if in return, the Dems and Pres demand eliminating the CAP on SS.

The revenues would make up for the losses, perhaps even result in bigger distributions.

There's a way to get what we want, we just have to be cleva.

    •  Thankfully, YOU don't get to decide (1+ / 0-)

This isn't a theoretical decision. Real people retirees and veterans will be hurt by C-CPI.

And by the way, no reason to link caving on C-CPI to eliminating the cap. We should be a firm NO on the former and an unmistakably loud YES on the latter.

Stop thinking like a dem and start thinking like a liberal.

but my point is, we can regain any takings and more by lifting the income cap!

And please don't tell me to "think" like a "liberal"  IMHO this country has lost all sense of what a real liberal actually is.

I don't favor ANY cuts to SS or Medicare, but if they have to be horsetraded, my suggestion would essentially nullify them.

There's a way to get what we want, have our cake and eat it too while leaving the other guy feeling like they got something too.

Stop thinking like a Tea Partier and start thinking like a negotiator, because ultimately politics IS the fine art of compromise, not digging your heels in pointlessly.
