but going after POLITICAL figures for sedition is a prelude to Civil War.  However, in my mind they are certainly guilty of it.

The question though is not guilt or innocence though.  It's what good it will do and if a successful prosecution could be done.   With our Supreme Court not a chance.

Now, if you want to charge the Koch Brothers with sedition, I'm 100% behind that.  There is not the political price to pay.  They're not Southerner fundamentalist rednecks but rich industrialists who don't exactly have lots of friends in the middle class.

Even if we could try the Tea Party leadership for sedition and kick them out of Congress, the money from the 1% would just replace them with more.  You want justice, go for the head of the beast not the puppets.

    •  I think there is great strength in using the words (5+ / 0-)

to describe what just went down. For years now, RWNJs have grabbed 'ownership' over being 'real' Americans and 'Patriots'. We have allowed them to do this. At first, it was somewhat comical but it sure isn't anymore. Using these words reframes the conversation in very important ways.

As for actually arresting anyone? No way. Fuse meet powder keg.

Going after the 1% would be very risky but they as individuals don't have the love of much of America.  It's not like arresting a member of Congress and nullifying the votes that got him or her into office.

I think we need to start pushing the French revolution theme into the dialogue, not actually calling for violence but reminding the elite that it's a historical and logical step that will take place if their greed continues to spread the wealth so unevenly.  I'm at odds though with how you present this without being accused of actually advocating the violent acts but I think those guys at the top, spewing money for power, need a serious scare and reality check.

How do we educate the Koch brothers and others like them about the eventual consequences of their course of action?  It's not a question of if suppressed human beings will eventually revolt against the greedy, rich, and powerful when the concentration of wealth becomes enormous.  It's when.  Every time in history the balance has become tilted too far, violence has ensued and those powerful few have been not only taken down in power politically but also torn apart physically and their wealth stolen or destroyed.

I would have zero sympathy for any of them but violence always has a huge amount of innocents killed and injured.
