      where local radio suppressed the existence of punk rock for as long as it could.  They only grudgingly started playing Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson sometime after 1980.  When it came to the Sex Pistols, in 1977, we were clueless.  Plus, we were not a terribly rebellious bunch.

        We got all the punk there first. Friends and I actually created the first punk 'garage' magazine on the left coast. Ah, good times (slam dances in reminiscence, breaks a hip)...
