grubbers like McAuliffe.  Maybe someone should compare the relative numbers for Warren, factoring as necessary.

The first thing McAuliffe said upon winning was that he was going to do the serious bipartisan bop with the Teaheads.   What's he gonna do, compromise for a shorter vaginal probe wand?  Agree to not make a big deal about VA state official corruption stuff from now on?

Terry McAuliffe almost lost to a fucking moron with dogshit on his shoes.

    •  And who instead? (1+ / 0-)

In 2009 we rejected T-Mac and went with a candidate designed for rural appeal, Creigh Deeds.  Deeds was 10x more bi-partisan than Mac, and bi-partisan on the wrong issues especially environment.  Brian Moran might have been the more progressive type, but he might have been the mirror problem of Deeds.  In '13 the other name touted was Perriello and while I would have prefered that he ran instead, doesn't achieve 100% purity and decided not to run.

T-Mac won the governorship in a state where the other party controls the legislature.  Of course he's going to be bi-partisan when he wins if he wants to accomplish anything.  But, importantly, it wasn't on any social issue that he talked about bi-partisanship but transportation and trying for medicaid expansion.  He's not going to compromise on women's rights, he might have to go for the Arkansas model for the medicaid expansion as the best that could be done with the delegates.

      •  Good point, VA's politics are pretty dysfunctional (0+ / 0-)

and the fact that McAuliffe got a primary pass from the entire Dem field - and was thus spared getting his ass shellacked by almost anyone who might have decided to challenge him - is a very sad commentary indeed.  In that sense, VA is getting just what it deserves.

My comments regarding his bipartisan comments were snark, I assumed that was obvious.  McAuliffe, like all Turd Wayers, has liberal positions on social issues like abortion and he won't be negotiating a vaginal probe deal, I'm sure.  But he'll be cutting deals on fiscal  and public education issues, for example, that will result in real harm to real people, none of whom are campaign donation bundlers or 501c4 employees, I can assure you.
