    It's just because the Democratic politicians aren't doing their jobs that we can't get any legislation passed or nominations through?

      is pushing for things that benefit your political coalition.  In short, if gerrymandering would help Democrats, they should do it.  Certainly, the Democrats should be pulling out all the stops and playing every brand of dirty politics they know — in order to stop the Republicans from doing it.  Politics is a Machiavellian art, and not for the faint-hearted.  

      Shirley Chisholm was right. Our Republic is in deep trouble.
