    People who follow politics intently, daily - these are the only ones who care about that stuff. (Frankly, within this subset, we on the left are far outnumbered by the Limbaugh/RedState/Faux News crowd.) Most people don't read & post on political blogs, don't watch cable news all day. The young people that the Democrats NEED to motivate in order to win elections aren't necessarily interested in the daily goings-on in Washington. What they are interested in is results, or "deliverables" we could say. In 2008 Obama was something to get excited about; by 2010 he had revealed himself to be just another conventional politician. Whether it's cynicism or disillusionment, the problem may just be that young people know that the Democrats either lack the will or the political power to deliver on what they promise.
