How is it that the President can unilaterally follow or not follow any part of this law as he sees fit?

I know the President cleared his throat, so the DKos monkeys are obligated to stand and applause, but do you guys ever think beyond the next five minutes?

If President Obama can decide that he isn't going to enforce the Employer Mandate, or the provisions prohibiting federal contributions, the grandfather clause or any other politically inconvenient part of the law, what on Earth makes you think a future Republican President is going to feel bound to follow or enforce ANY of the law?

By the way, monkeys, health insurance futures jumped a half of percent since the press conference.

Guess they really think they are going to get the bad end of this deal.

a future republican president will enforce the ACA is to get it up and working.  At that point any tinkering on the part of a GOP president would result in people losing coverage or rates going up, so the president would be less likely to sabotage it.

Even then, a real nutsack president might do so.  Just like Bush abrogated many foreign treaties, despite it being unconstitutional.  Who's going to stop a future GOP president?  Dems?  LOL, ROTLMFAO!

    •  T'is following the law which delegates minutiae... (0+ / 0-)

to the Executive. And he should do these type of executive actions much more often and a.s.a.p.

      And welcome to dkos.
And are you suggesting members are animals?
Reminds me of a Dune quote by Frank Herbert:

Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam: Let us say I suggest you may be human. Your awareness may be powerful enough to control your instincts.
      •  Minutiae? (0+ / 0-)

You think the Employer Mandate in Minutiae?  Is the Individual Mandate Minutiae?

Then what, indeed is substantial in the law?

        And who is the judge?

What if a Republican President declares pre-existing regulations "minutiae"?  Or lifetime caps?

        Sorry for insulting monkeys.
