  •  Some Dems and liberal media types aren't thinking (0+ / 0-)

I have seen several democratic senators and liberal talking heads, including Lawrence O'Donnell, talk about their concerns that weakening the fillibuster rule could lead to a lot of problems for democrats if republicans were to retake the senate.

This argu, ent is very stupid and/or naive.

    1. If democrats are able to change the fillibuster rule while in power, then clearly republicans could do so if they were in power.

    2. If republicans take power with the fillibuster rules just as they are now, they WILL change them to undermine any power democrats have. They have done this in the House, and they stick together pretty tightly as a party.

    3. If Republicans took the senate and changed the fillibuster rules--which they would say the democrats forced them to do--then democrats would be exactly where they would have been had they changed the fillibuster rules, except with fewer liberal judges in the DC circuit and without heads of several departments.

Democrats need to get some common sense and fix the fillibuster problem right now, because they are idiots if they imagine Republicans would not have done so years ago if they could have. They need to let go of this fantasy Senate where everyone is congenial and respects one another. Republicans have no respect for democrats and want nothing more than a one-party theocracy.

**Electing Republicans to the government is like hiring pyromaniacs as firemen. They all just want to see everything burn to the ground.**
