    Such diversity among birds! I really love how your photos tell a story, like the avocets and the pelicans. Bird life is so dynamic. I also appreciate how you include both the rare and the regulars.

    E is for eagle around here, and lately they've been so active as pairs. Last evening I heard that calling up high, looked up and two were swooping tightly around each other as they headed for a favorite perch on the hillside.

    Here's an individual on a rock near the beach. Sorry for the poor resolution, but I like these pics for the story: otters climbed onto the rock, challenging her, and then backed off. They went back into the water, no match for her! Then she ruffles and resettles herself. Eagles are the very definition of gravitas.
