I'm not sure how long ago we sank, but I am sure we're still sinking.  We're near the bottom, aren't we?

America's infant mortality rate (the best single measure of overall health care standards in a country) is on par with Romania's. That isn't a high endorsement of our overall standard of health care and it is the direct result of lack of a universal health care policy that ensures that all of a country's citizens, rich or poor, have access to quality health care. We don't have that now. The ACA is attempting to achieve that and I fully support it. As a medical professional I've seen the results of America's uneven and often non-existent health care coverage and I KNOW that we can do better.
