OTOH the public discourse has become contaminated in recent years, with many words no longer meaning what they once did.  "Conservative theology" is an example as when such things are discussed, it is defined as, for example, the dictum that "those who would eat must work" or, as one winger recently claimed, "Jesus was a Man's Man, with bulging muscles who smelled bad and worked as a carpenter".

Anyone who would disagree with such a muscular, "Schwarzenegger" model of Jesus would be more likely to be identified as a theological liberal rather than conservative.

BTW found this story today on Fox's misreporting of events:

...are constantly in flux, which is why I should defined my terms for my purposes at the outset, but all should be relatively clear now.

And oh yes, you refer to Mark Driscoll. He has a big following, but the vast majority of conservative Christians tend either to be disgusted by him, or filter out the nonsense, or don't know who he is. At any rate, he's a problem, but I don't think he's going to be so influential as to transform the meaning of "liberal" for the whole Evangelical population.

      God I can't stand him.

Anyway, yes, Fox News reporting is daangerous shit. But they do it every single day. It's their business, and they're good at it.
