    They did whatever they damn well pleased, and the Democrats did not obstruct.  Wars everywhere, tax cuts for billionaires, the wingnut theocrat Alito on the court, etc., etc.  

    Elections have consequences.  Republicans don't get to make all the decisions when they lose elections.  If they were incapable of restricting their use of the filibuster, they deserved to lose it.  Period.

    Everyone here understands perfectly well that if the Dems had used the filibuster as the Republicans have, the Republicans would have ended the filibuster.  Everyone also understands that if Dems tried to obstruct Republicans in a majority-Republican senate, the Republicans would end the filibuster.

    It's undemocratic as hell, and it needed to go.

      Republicans have.  You have, perhaps, forgotten the "Gang of 14".

      The current Republicans have taken it to new heights, but are really just trudging down the path laid by Democrats in the Bush administration.
