    this wonderful diary.  You captured so well the deep feeling of loss with JFK's death----a loss that seemed to shock and change us in ways we'd never expected. Our lives were changed by his death and by so many events over the years immediately following that.  Those of us who were alive and old enough to understand what happened that day are all marked in some way by what happened to this country with the loss of that remarkable, intelligent young man who had such a vision he was steering us toward with the intent to make us a better nation and better as a people.  I was a senior in high school that November day and I know that for many of us in that age group, we continue to carry with us the knowledge that we witnessed a President who was a gifted leader.  We felt so bereft at his death for the loss of all the promise that he held out to us and for us as a country.
