    This year a friend was remembering a non-mutual friend who committed suicide in the past month. I didn't know her, but I've had a front-row seat for the Facebook reactions.

    There was a web of things all creating a situation that got too much for her.

    At the core of all of it? Lack of family and societal support and a lot of societal discrimination. If she hadn't been trans, the path that led her there would never have been set foot on, would never have been there.

    The same society that taught her the world would go on just fine and undamaged with one last transwoman in it also teaches people with very intensive violent tendencies the exact same lesson. Regularly, and from many of the same sources.
