  •  Well, that's some bullshit.... (11+ / 0-)

Also, fuck these local law enforcement agencies who cooperate with the Feds on this. You don't work for the Feds, you work for the city, county, state, whatever... You work for the people who voted for this.

      read this article from Westword.

Although details are few about Colorado medical marijuana dispensary raids yesterday, we're learning more from warrants that name ten "target subjects."

These individuals allegedly violated one or more of the eight priorities listed in an August memo guiding U.S. Attorneys in dealing with state pot laws that contradict federal policy. One of those is money going toward a criminal enterprise -- and named target Juan Guardarrama is better known among high-dollar jewel thieves as "Tony Montana."

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery. Today is a gift and that's why it's called "The Present".

Montana can be any kind of real, serious criminal. Haha

If they were limiting their raids to just known criminals, that would be one thing, but they're not even arresting or charging people often times. Just stealing their shit. And it seems that reserving the right to close a place because of money going to a known criminal leaves the possibility open for shutting just about anyone down with marijuana still being a Schedule 1 substance according to the Feds.

At the very least, they need to be far more transparent with the reasoning behind their raids. If they're trying to limit the flow of money to gangs and cartels, I think that's a good goal. But would YOU invest your life-savings into a marijuana dispensary under this kind of threat? If organized crime is a problem among dispensaries, I'd have to think at least part of that has to be due to the kinds of bad incentives federal policy creates.

It goes in to detail how the Nat. Guard was involved in raids in Humbolt County during the 70's.
They have been pushing the limits of Posse Commitous (sp) big time.
Plus all the military hardware they get to use with no knock warrants in the middle of the night.

Passing a law that the Constitution doesn't allow does not negate the Constitution, it negates the law that was passed. Secret courts can't make up secret laws. SORRY FOR THE TYPOS :)
